The Buffalo Bills Quarterback With The Most Career Wins

Mark Peters

The Buffalo Bills are one of the more interesting franchises in National Football League history. They started out as one of the charter member teams in the American Football League in 1960 and would experience a good amount of success and failure throughout their history. The team has had some great players over the years, some of them who are even included in a list of the league's all time greats. From the quarterback position though, who has the most victories?

It should come as no surprise to most Buffalo Bills fans, and to most football fans really, that the winningest quarterback in team history is none other than Jim Kelly. Jim Kelly played college football for the University of Miami and then went on to put up huge numbers in the United States Football League of the 1980's. When he came to the Bills after that, there were high expectations and hopes and he did his best to meet every one of them.

He was a major contributor to a team that dominated the AFC in the late 1980's and early 1990's, including making four consecutive Super Bowl appearances. He played his whole NFL career with the Bills and when he retired he had won 101 games as the team's starting quarterback.

That total puts him 24 wins ahead of the second place player on the list, and with no active player in the top ten as of the start of the 2010 season, it appears he will hold that mark for a great many years to come. Jim Kelly had a great career and he can be judged a superstar in a number of ways, including the fact that as far as the Bills were concerned, he just kept putting up victory after victory.
