Career Outlook Thoughts

The United States has an interesting future career outlook. According to the United States Department of Labor, many current graduates will have between ten and fourteen jobs during their life by the time they reach thirty-eight years.

Another interesting statistic is that twenty-five percent of employed people have been on their jobs about a year and fifty-percent have been at their jobs for less than five years.

These statistics make it difficult to predict what the future job outlook will be for workers in the United States or even what types of skills will be needed for the job market.

The trend seems to be that many will go from job to job trying to find the right career to settle into and that is not a prospect that many are looking forward to.

No one knows what kind of skills will be needed for jobs of the future or what kind of skills will be most needed or wanted in any type of career.

The best be for anyone who will be a job seeker in the future is to get an education. Since it is unpredictable what kind of skills will be needed, it would be wise to get an all around education in many different subjects and fields of study.

It will also be necessary to hone certain skills that make one job worthy such as business skills, personal skills or any other type of skill that relates to any type of job that you may obtain. Interpersonal skills are the key as well as time management and productivity skills, and leadership and communication skills that relate to the job market and to life in general.

Make sure to include technology skills as part of your educational background, as many of the future jobs will no doubt be employing some kinds of technology or multiple technologies on the job.
