A lot of moms are opting to work at the comfort of their homes. Aside from the fact that they need not spend so much money on their office wardrobe, they get to spend a lot of time with their children while maintaining their careers. Follow these rules before you start with your home based careers: 1. Find quality child care. You can ask a relative to look after your kids while you are working at home or hire a trusted nanny. It is best to have someone you can trust to look after your kids. 2. Set up your own office at home. It is best to have a separate room for this purpose with a door which you can close when your work commences. You would not want any disruption while you are working, right? 3. Try to simulate a situation wherein you are pretending to leave home. As much as possible, make yourself presentable too as if you are working outside your house. 4. Condition your children that you may be around the house the whole day but you cannot attend to them because you are working in your home office. Tell them that a nanny will take care of them while you are inside your home office. 5. Make a schedule of your working hours. Acquaint your children with your schedule. 6. Tell your nanny to walk your children to the park in the village while you are working. 7. Set some rules regarding your child's behavior while you are working. You must make the necessary adjustment. Your kids must be accustomed to these changes if you want to attain a good working environment. 8. Talk to some moms who are working at home too. I am pretty sure that you can pick up some insights from them with regards to working at home. |
