Career Planning

So, What Is Career Planning?

Planning your career should be done carefully. In fact, it is a long process which involves selecting an occupation, grabbing a good job, possibly changing careers, and someday retiring.

There are steps that you can take about your career. Like careful deliberation and organisation, as this can aid you in deciding which career option you prefer. Analysing the career options you desire that suits you best can also assist you during your studies.

The first step is to know your career preferences. It is an important decision? because that way you will how to market yourself to possible employees. Self-assessment is also needed to know what possible work will be most applicable to your character, needs, interests, skills, abilities, strengths and weakness. A sort of short description about yourself.

Then you need to explore the jobs you are interested. This would entail employment outlook, training, education, its responsibilities, maybe the salary and? the working hours. This can help you make a check-list.

Match yourself with the job. During this step you will be able to identify the prospecting opportunities, learn to evaluate the occupations, and select between short-term and long-term options.

Since you already have an overview of the whole situation, it is useful to have a plan of action on how you will be able to push through with the plan. Actions can be flexible as you continue to move forward to narrow down your needs. It will also help you lead to the choices you will take.

And a plan would not be good if it were not implemented. Carefully analyse all the information you have gathered, so that you can compare all the advantage and disadvantages of each. If you? do not have enough information to compare both then, I guess you need to work harder and do more research.

Now, once you have made a choice for your career, you can now go ahead and implement your plan of action. Remember that the plans you make should be part of the solutions to your problem as well as it is workable and is will be able to achieve your goals.

And after getting into all those steps, it is time to be more serious as you now need to re-examine your decisions and actions, so that you can make adjustment in case your desired is not on target.

It is true that during that course of our life we need to re-assess and maybe adjust some of our career decision by improving skills and remaining flexible in approaching the ever developing needs of modern work and to be in pace in the rapidly changing world.
